The 4th of July is the flagship summer holiday – we all look forward to the get-togethers with family and friends, grilled burgers, watermelon, fireworks and fun! Do you have your 4th of July plans ready to go? Are you hosting a get together at your place?
When it comes to decorating, the 4th of July is a holiday where a little red, white and blue crepe paper can go a long ways. Its so inexpensive and looks just right strung over the dining room table or festooned across the front of the entertainment center. A great idea for a festive center piece are some red, white and blue pinwheels, along with some small US flags, available at so many stores this time of year, clustered in a vase as an “arrangement” on the kitchen table or dining room table. The bright shiny pinwheels and patriotic flags will cost so much less than live flowers would and will be a huge hit!
If you are the host of this year’s 4th of July festivities, then you have probably already started to think about your menu and fun activities for the day. Make the day a breeze by preparing as much ahead of time as possible. Fresh vegetables and fruits can be chopped up and sealed in baggies and containers in the refrigerator ready to go. You can make appetizers and snacks a few days ahead as well, ready to pop into the oven or microwave for heating up.
Enjoy the 4th of July, and of course, remember to be safe if fireworks are involved!
